The story:
Jomfru Fanny Bigband was formed in the fall of 1989. In 1996 the band was named as one of Southern Jutlands Countyorchestras. It is comprised of experienced musicians from all over the county, most of them has performed with the band since its beginning. The name “Jomfru Fanny” is taken from the name of a famous local figure who lived in the past century. She had psychic powers wich enabled her to predict several violent events.
Jomfru Fanny Bigband has a broad repertoire within the mainstreamjazz and performs frequently in the area at festivals as well as cafe-jazz. In addition to that, the bigband performs for local scools where the instruments and their roll in a jazzband are demonstrated in aserious yet entertaining manner. JFB has toured in Sweden, The Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, France and The Netherlands.
